In major cities, two individuals were arrested in Secunderabad for allegedly duping 16 people in Karimnagar and Jawahar Nagar by providing fake FCI appointment letters and false ID cards, resulting in the collection of approximately Rs 93.5 lakh.
the police apprehended two accused from a hideout in Secunderabad, who allegedly defrauded over 100 people of approximately Rs 10 crore by falsely promising them jobs in the Food Corporation of India and Railways.
Acting on a tip-off, the Rachakonda SOT sleuths, and Jawahar Nagar police successfully arrested the alleged serial fraudster P Bhaskar, aged 57, along with his accomplice K Ritesh Kumar, aged 41. Bhaskar is also suspected to be involved in a money transfer scam, wherein he deceived people by falsely claiming to facilitate the release of “Foreign funds” from the Reserve Bank of India.
Rachakonda Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat stated that the main accused, Bhaskar, was involved in liaison work and railway contracts in Delhi. He allegedly defrauded numerous victims not only in Delhi but also in Telangana and several other states.
Following multiple complaints filed by victims, the Jawahar Nagar police registered a case of cheating against the duo who had allegedly collected around Rs 93.5 lakh from 16 people in Karimnagar and Jawahar Nagar by providing fake FCI appointment letters and false ID cards. In pursuit of apprehending the accused, a special team was formed.
In 2022, Bhaskar, along with his associates, was booked for job fraud by multiple police stations, including Gandhinagar Police Station in Hyderabad, Ghatkesar in Rachakonda, Narsampet town PS in Warangal, and Miyapur in Cyberabad.
following the arrest of the accused, the police seized fake offer letters, two cars, and Rs 9 lakh cash. The commissioner further revealed that the accused had amassed approximately Rs 10 crore from victims in West Bengal, Chennai, Delhi, and Hyderabad.
The commissioner stated that they would seek his custody to extract further information regarding his activities and other members of the gang.
